Beam Suntory President and CEO Albert Baladi says:
Beam Suntory is excited to honor our roots by investing in the James B. Beam Distilling Co., and setting ourselves up for a bright future in Kentucky and around the world. With nearly 225 years behind us, we are proud of our history of entrepreneurialism, craftsmanship and innovation. As the world leader in bourbon, we are thrilled to be laying the foundation for the next 225 years. So to break this down, the Fred B. Noe Craft Distillery will be located on the James B. Beam Distilling Co. site in Clermont, Kentucky. It is named for 7th Generation Mastber Distiller Fred Noe and will serve as the home for small-batch bourbons like Booker's and Baker's, and the next-generation brand Little Book. To make this more confusing, those are created by 8th generation Beam Distiller Freddie Noe.
Additionally, this new distillery will have a visitor experience that will give consumers behind-the-scenes tours across the Beam Suntory family of brands, a tasting room, and can offer customizable experiences.
Our Take
Aside from the confusing wording of creating a distillery within a distillery, another distillery to tour in our neighboring state is always amazing. Especially when it has the backing of one of the largest spirit companies in the world. Let's hope the warehouses have sprinkler systems installed so we don't get a repeat of the Jim Beam warehouse fires.
There wasn't a date given on when this will open but I'll be following the story and will post updates as I hear them.
