My Take
Historically, I haven't been a huge Jack Daniel's fan. When I was starting out, it was always Jim or Jack and I found I preferred Jim more, which is one of the early reasons I gravitated to bourbon over whiskey and scotch. Having said this, there are a ton of Jack Daniel's fans out there... In fact, I always keep a bottle of Gentleman Jack on hand for when they visit.
When I look at the reasons if a certain release is worthwhile, I look at number of locations, allocation per location, uniqueness of the bottles, and price. Based on that criteria, if you are a Jack fan, this is a release worth checking into. There are 16 locations across the state with over 150 bottles at each location. These bottles are unavailable on a daily basis in Ohio and the prices are reasonable. If I were going to the release (be at the store at least 30 minutes before opening), I'd be most interested in the Single Barrel, Barrel Proof at $64.99 + tax.
If you go to any of the locations on December 21st or end up buying a bottle, drop a note in the comments with your thoughts.

Thanks for the info! Not trying to be a B; but there could be a benefit of having a proof reader in the future. A few items I noticed: the date was listed as Friday December 21 and should have been Saturday the 21st or Friday the 20th, the first bullet under Single Barrel Select was missing a digit for the barrel number (suspect it was a 6, based on the numbers listed under the store locations) and the last thing I noticed on quick glance is all the barrel numbers and descriptions under Single Barrel Rye and Single Barrel, Barrel Proof were the same. I suspect the descriptions only belong to one category and not both.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer, thanks for the comment. I've updated the date and the barrel numbers. The missing digit was provided by the state so I didn't want to make any assumptions on what the correct number was supposed to be. Thanks again for the feedback.
