The 10 year bourbon comes in at 94.4 proof (47.2% alcohol), was matured in fire-charred, new American white oak barrels, and carries a $130 price for a 750ml bottle (however, the Ohio Liquor Control is showing $111.99 at the time of publishing) and will be available in limited quantities. The tasting notes from Michter's are: Big and bold dark toffee and caramel, charred oak, maple syrup, and vanilla.
My Take
The first thing that caught my was the $130 price tag, which is a huge climb from the $40.99 price for regular Michter's bourbon. The second thing I noticed is that there wasn't much information in the press release or on their website. If I'm going to spend that amount for a bottle, I'd like to have the 'why' it's different than other bottles. For those reasons, this is one I'm going to pass on. There are a lot of cheaper varieties of Michter's I'd try before getting to their premium bottles. If you're a huge Michter's fan and want to splurge, this could be the spirit for you, but for everyone else, I think this will be a pass.
