July 2020 in Review

This month I posted 8 unique articles and the site saw close to 15,300+views... up from 15,234 last month and up over 600% from the 2450 views in July of 2019.

Ohio Department of Liquor (OHLQ) Announces Second Weller Lottery (Weller 12 Year) Starting August 3rd

The Ohio Department of Liquor (OHLQ) has announced their second Weller lottery this year... this time for Weller 12 Year. As you may remember, a certain amount of Weller 12 Year was available to winners of the last auction that ended June 12th. 

Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) Announces Woodford Bottles - Available Week of July 27

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced the availability of selected bottles of Woodford Reserve and Woodford Double Oaked exclusive to Ohio beginning the week of July 27th. 

Limestone Branch Distillery Announces 2020 Edition of Yellowstone Limited Edition Bourbon

Limestone Branch has announced their 2020 edition of Yellowstone Bourbon coming to shelves in September. This year's edition is a 7 year straight bourbon finished in French Armagnac barrels. 

Pappy Van Winkle & More Bourbon Raffle for Charity Benefiting The First Tee of Miami Valley - Drawing September 1st

As you may know from following this site, I try to highlight any and all bourbon news with a focus on how it impacts us in Ohio. With that said, I want to highlight a charity raffle being put on by The First Tee of Greater Miami Valley for some top notch bourbon... including a 15 year Pappy Van Winkle, George T Stagg, and many more!

Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) Announces Old Forester Single Barrel - Available Week of July 13th

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced the availability of nine barrels worth of Old Forester Single Barrel beginning the week of July 13th. 

Michter's Announces 2020 Edition of 10-Year Single Barrel Rye

Michter's has announced the 2020 release of their 10 Year Single Barrel Rye. Like last year, not much information was provided other than it has an MSRP of $160 for a 750ml bottle, which is up $30 from last years edition. 

James B. Beam Distilling Co. Relaunches Old Tub Brand

James B. Beam Distilling Co. has announced the return of Old Tub. This new brand will feature an unfiltered, 100-proof bonded bourbon (50% alcohol) that will be available immediately. 

Ohio Department of Liquor (OHLQ) Announces Weller Lottery Winners (updated)

The Ohio Department of Liquor (OHLQ) has announced the winners of the Weller lottery. As a bonus for the winners, they can select from four Weller products for their winning bottle. The four selections are:

1. OHLQ Single Barrel Selection of Weller Full Proof
2. Weller Full Proof (Supplier Allocation)
3. Weller CYPB
4. Weller 12 (which will appear in a future lottery)

Winners rank their preference and the available bottle will be communicated at a later time. I've reached out to OHLQ to find out the number of entries and the number of bottles of each that are available. I'll update this post if I hear back.

Update 7/25/20: I contacted the OHLQ and found out they had 36,940 entries and 2001 winners for an overall chance of 5.4% odds... easily the highest of any auction so far.
