Heaven Hill Distillery has announced the Fall 2020 edition of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond. Like the Spring 2019 release, the Fall 2020 edition bourbon that was produced using bourbon that was barreled in 2005 making this a 14 year bourbon (the 2019 was a 13 year).
As with all bottled-in-bond releases, this bourbon has been aged at least four years and comes in at 100 proof (50% alcohol). This is a national release. No retail price was provided, however, there is a 14 year Bottled-In-Bond listed on the State website for $139.99 with the following statement:This is a limited supply product released once per year by the Supplier and is not available at this time.
No tasting notes were provided.
My Take
I've never had Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond, but it's certainly intriguing. The bottle is that beautiful ornate glass that would look great on display. This could be a good buy if you're looking for a top-end bottle to bring out at special occasions or one that would look great as part of your collection. While $140 is a lot to pay, it does seem reasonable for a 14 year.
