The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced a new lottery starting on Monday, March 15th for single barrel selections of Blanton's, Eagle Rare, and E.H. Taylor.
- Blanton’s Barrel #074: Spicy nutmeg, cornbread, and cinnamon on the nose. Floral hints and cinnamon continue on the palate, bitter orange peel and nice sweetness. Spicy honey, caramel, and corn finish.
- Eagle Rare Barrel #027: Citrus forward but more oak and toffee with some notes of rose petals. Significantly more honey with a creamy finish. Sweet and spicy, the cinnamon coats the entire palate with a nice, long finish.
- Eagle Rare Barrel #290: Honey forward on the nose with oak, vanilla, and baking spice. Easy sipping with brown sugar and vanilla with creamy honey and a chocolate, candied nut. An abbreviated finish.
- Eagle Rare Barrel #304: Honey and vanilla forward on the nose with leather and oak. Very mild throughout with notes of chocolate cherry, rich caramel, honey, and vanilla with a long, creamy finish.
- Eagle Rare Barrel #333: Oak, citrus, and spice on the nose with more herbaceous notes. This one has a lemon drop candy undercurrent that lingers a little with orange notes that are reminiscent of an orange peel in a Manhattan with a short, oak finish.
- Eagle Rare Barrel #368: This one has a younger nose with notes of citrus and light oak. It has a little more bite on the palate with warm baking spices, cherry, and dark chocolate with a longer finish. A very traditional straight bourbon profile but on the vanilla, sweet side. A definite crowd pleaser
- E.H. Taylor Barrel #016: Toasted oak, butterscotch, maple sugar, caramelized candy, and bit smoky on the nose. Tobacco, baking spices, dark chocolate, caramel, and sea salt with a sweet, lingering finish.
- E.H. Taylor Barrel #061: Butterscotch forward on the nose with cherry, fig, and smokiness. Cherry forward with chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla with a long, cherry finish.
