Buffalo Trace has announced the 2021 edition of Weller Full Proof and Weller C.Y.P.B.. The 2021 edition of the Full Proof comes in at 114 proof (57% alcohol) and carries the incredibly reasonable suggested retail price of $49.99. The C.Y.P.B. is a result of the Buffalo Trace interactive activity called 'Craft Your Perfect Bourbon' where they essentially crowdsource a mash bill and then create it. The 2021 release is a bourbon aged 8 years at 95 proof (47.5% alcohol) with an MSRP of $49.99.
My Take
For these prices, you'll probably never see these on actual store shelves. In the past, you may be able to find them at the distillery, but more likely, as part of a future lottery by the State of Ohio Department of Liquor. For the 2020 versions of this, Ohio was allocated 2001 bottles of the Weller Full Proof and there were 36,940 entries so... about a 5.4% chance of winning. If you see any of these in the wild, buy them immediately.
