The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced the release of single-barrel selections of Rebel Distiller’s Collection hitting stores the week of January 24th.
The State has 8 barrels worth of product that were selected by the distiller and OHLQ exclusively for Ohio and contain a price of $39.99 (plus tax). The bottles will be available until sold out. The bourbon is bottled at 113 proof (56.5% alcohol) and the barrels contain the following tasting notes:- Barrel #7500640 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.6
Buttery nose, tones of sweet vanilla - Barrel #7503423 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.6
Tones of creamy dark fruit - Barrel #7503437 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.6
Overtones of sweet green tea - Barrel #7533037 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.5
Sweet honey and caramel apple, with moderate oak - Barrel #7633357 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.2
Sweet cherry with hints of fig - Barrel #7633389 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.2
Nose of fresh baked goods. Brown sugar and caramel, with a touch of toasted oak - Barrel #7633394 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.2
Tones of creamy candy, with caramel. Bold, tobacco finish - Barrel #7654678 — 113 Proof — Age: 4.1
Sweet vanilla with hints of buttered kettle corn

My Take
I haven't had much experience with Rebel, but $39.99 for an aged bourbon with a 113 proof is definitely intriguing. If you see this out and about, it's definitely worth giving it a go.
