Michter's has announced their only release of any 10 year products with the July release of the 2022 edition of their 10 Year Single Barrel Rye.
Michter's President Joseph J. Magliocco said:It may be the only release we do of a 10 Year whiskey this year, but it's a really special one. At Michter's it's about never compromising on quality rather than maximizing sales.
The suggested MSRP is $185 per bottle. No tasting notes were provided. Previous editions of the 10 year rye are showing up on the OHLQ website, but nothing that matches the 2022 release. With that, I'm not super optimistic we'll have any opportunity to purchase this in Ohio.
2021 Release ($170)
2020 Release ($160)
2019 Release ($160)
My Take
As I previously wrote about, Michter's has cancelled their 2022 10-year bourbon release so this will be your only opportunity for a 2022 10-year Michter's product this year. It's interesting the price is up 8.8% this year and up almost 16% since 2020. With that trend, it won't be long until this retails for upwards of $200.
My opinion of this hasn't changed... $185 is a lot of money to pay for a single bottle... especially if it isn't barrel proof.
