The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced the release of eight barrels of single-barrel selection of Rebel Distiller’s Collection appearing in stores this week (week of August 1) at a price of $39.99 plus tax.
The Distiller's Collection is a highly wheated bourbon recipe that is aged at least four years and is bottled at 113 proof (56.5% alcohol). Since these are single barrels, each barrel will have a distinctive flavor. The tasting notes for each barrel are:- Barrel #7784612 - Hints of marshmallow and cereal with a deep body of warm vanilla
- Barrel #7755876 - Aromas of caramel and oak opening to a sweet spice
- Barrel #7784799 - Velvety cocoa and toffee flavors, reminiscent of a fine gourmet chocolate truffle
- Barrel #7784805 - Soft, sweet aroma complements a pleasant brown sugar caramel profile
- Barrel #7784804 - Nostalgic notes of fresh baked goods and drizzled honey
- Barrel #7784807 - Rich caramel opening to bright flavors of baking spice and candied citrus
- Barrel #7784808 - Vanilla and warm cinnamon sugar with subtle hints of cherry cordial
- Barrel #77810980 - Sweet cream cake and overtones of vanilla and oak cascading to a pleasant spiced finish
It isn't known how many bottles are available, but to locate a bottle, use the OHLQ bottle finder.
My Take
$40 + tax isn't horrible to pay for a four year single barrel bourbon. I'm not usually a huge fan of wheat heavy bourbons, but this would be worth giving a hard look if you find a bottle of this out and about.

One of my favorite wheaters… and I’m glad the taters haven’t figured out how good these are yet 😂🥃
